For the more advanced skiers, World Cup also runs at Podkoren and eight resorts in Slovenia, Austria, and Italy within 30 to 60 minutes drive.

There are also several breathtaking villages around the towns featuring traditional farmhouses of Gorenjska style and some stunning local gostilnas or inns. 

How to Get There

If you will come from Ljubljana, it will only require 1 hour and 20 minutes of driving for you to get to the town. There are still a lot of wonderful places you can check out on your way to the town during summer such as Lake Bled.

Visit Lake Jasna

Lake Jasna, located just 2 kilometers away from the main center, is a charming place where you can spend your whole day without even noticing time passing by. With its English translation “two small artificial lakes,” Lake Jasna is exactly that although you cannot really consider the lakes to be small at all.

Even though the two lakes themselves are beautiful, this place stands out because of the dazzling natural scenery. There are two small cafes, a jumping tower, and wooden piers there that can guarantee you a fun day outside. 

Go on a hike

Most of the tourists go to Kranjska Gora during summer season to hike, which is not at all surprising considering that you can choose from more than 100 kilometers of paths. There are also family friendly hikes perfect for kids as well as others that might be more suitable to more experienced hikers. There are also some hikes that require a mountain guide and suitable gear and equipment.

For instance, you can hike starting from Mojstrana to the foot of Mount Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain. The route passes through the valleys of Krma, Kot, and Vrata. You can be sure that no matter what hiking path you choose, you will be seeing some great alpine views. 

Drop by at Lake Zelenci

The panoramic Lake Zelenci is a mere 10-minute drive from the town. It is a favorite among many tourists for the simple reason that it is just so beautiful in every sense of the word. With its sparkling lake of turquoise green color, the most spectacular nature surrounds the area.

While it is not a swimming spot, the lake is definitely worth the visit. You can easily spend an hour as you sit on the edge of the pier and bask in the beautiful color of the lake and watch the fish as they swim around.

The town is a really sweet one. Despite its not so large size, it got this nice feel that you will find irresistible. There are several dining options here and one of these is Milka Restaurant. Its location overlooks Lake Jasna that makes it worth a short drive from the main center. Satisfy your taste buds with their cauliflower soup and a delish beef dish as your main course.
